After analysis, it is caused by the following reasons: after considering the wear of grate unit in the initial design, the grate beam should move from both sides to the middle to eliminate the gap caused by wear. Therefore, when the movable grate beam is initially installed, it is misaligned with the roller, leaving a displacement. This displacement increases on both sides, and some areas of the roller are already outside the movable beam. After running for a period of time, the roller is stuck and cannot rotate due to corrosion, but the grate beam still rubs back and forth on the roller. Soon, the part in contact with the grate beam is ground flat, while the part not in contact with the grate beam remains circular arc. In this way, the roller forms a step, and the grate beam can no longer move to the middle. After the roller is ground flat, the movable beam sinks and the running resistance increases. These factors are very unfavorable to the stable operation of the equipment.
 
The wheel device is easy to jam. The main reason is that the flange end of the roller is exposed, which is easy to be blocked by the ash falling from the grate. The ash is highly corrosive, and the shaft, bearing and roller are quickly corroded and stuck. And the bearing is not self-lubricating, which is also the reason for easy jamming. In view of the above problems, we have improved the structure and installation position of the roller device:
 
1、 Bosses are machined on both sides of the roller to protect the bearing
 
2、 Reduce the initial displacement between the roller and the movable grate beam, and install the roller completely under the movable grate beam.
 
3、 Add self-lubricating function to the bearing;
 
After the improvement, the service life of the roller is extended by 2 or 3 times, and it is replaced only once a year to two years, which greatly reduces the maintenance times, saves the operation cost and improves the stability of the grate operation.
