As more and more ships sail to different parts of the world every day, the air pollution caused by them is rising and is one of the major issues of global concern. The two main pollutants emitted by ships are nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx). These gases adversely affect the ozone layer in the troposphere of the earth's atmosphere, leading to greenhouse effect and global warming. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx) are the products of combustion and are discharged into the environment in the form of smoke.

In the presence of a heat source or ignition source, the marine fuel in the internal combustion engine is burned in the combustion chamber through the correct fuel and air mixture.
The ignition source of marine engine is the compression stroke of piston, and then combustion begins. Since the air mixture is {21% oxygen and 78% nitrogen, under some engine operating conditions, nitrogen will react with oxygen to form nitrogen oxides or NOx.
What causes NOx emissions from marine engines?
• high cylinder temperature and pressure during combustion
• improper proportion of air and combustion during combustion
• heavy load on engine or engine unit
the temperature of intake air or exhaust gas in the cylinder is too high
• jacket water temperature is too high
• the temperature of intake air or exhaust gas in the cylinder is too high
• poor fuel quality for engines
Guangdong GRVNES Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.has developed a set of "grvnes" SCR denitration system for the treatment of nitrogen oxides in the waste gas discharged by marine generators after years of painstaking research. After special design, the system can still realize high-efficiency operation under the condition of unstable exhaust temperature and gas quality; Important parts can withstand the common impurities in landfill gas and ensure the long-term stable operation of the system
