The main harmful exhaust gases emitted by Marine diesel engines include NOx, SOx, CO, CO2 and PM (particulate matter). The emission of these gases will cause varying degrees of damage to the environment. Relevant policies and standards have been introduced at home and abroad to effectively control the exhaust emissions of Marine diesel engines.
Ways to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) generation:
1. Waste gas post-treatment. Diesel engine post-treatment emissions, reduce the exhaust gas directly into the atmosphere, through exhaust post-treatment technology, the exhaust gas decomposition, oxidation or reduction of NOx, so as to achieve the purpose of reducing diesel engine NOx emissions. The use of selective catalytic reduction method (SCR), can effectively avoid the change of the main body of the diesel engine itself, the use of ammonia or urea as reducing agent, so that ammonia selectively and NOx chemical reaction, nitrogen separation, into N2 and H20(water), does not affect the normal operation of the diesel engine at the same time, can also remove a large number of NOx.
